November 8, 2005—A major initiative will be the Space Radar, projected to be a nine-satellite constellation that would detect and track moving objects anywhere on the Earth’s surface in any type of weather. USAF expects to begin launches in 2015 and invest an estimated $19 billion through 2024 on the space-based segments of the program.
