The Air Force has regained access to data associated with USAF Inspector General investigations, a service spokeswoman announced Wednesday. Last week, the service announced the data stored in the IG’s Automated Case Tracking System database were corrupted and lost. The database stores records related to IG complaints, investigations, and appeals along with FOIA requests. Once it is determined the database is stable, the service will again allow user access, according to Wednesday’s statement. The service is still investigating the mishap, and Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James has directed an independent review of the incident.
