Eight A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and about 140 airmen from the 122nd Fighter Wing at Fort Wayne ANGS, Ind., have deployed to Sliac AB, Slovakia, in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The airmen will train with their Slovakian counterparts and participate in cross-border training with other USAF aircraft, including F-16s, KC-135s, and C-130s, during the month-long deployment, according to a US Air Forces in Europe release. Indiana has had a state partnership with the NATO ally since 1993. The 163rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron will demonstrate their close air support capabilities and conduct classroom events to further integrate with the Slovakian forces while at Sliac AB.
