​The C-130 depot maintenance line rush-ordered several wing sets to support accelerated life extensions of the high-demand MC-130H Combat Talon II for Air Force Special Operations Command. Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex in Georgia enlisted help from the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., to quickly refurbish seven outer wing sets. "By accelerating the removal and shipment of the reclaimed Talon II wing in tandem with the refurbed wings, AMARG saved us a month of wait time … and gave the depot a head start," Robins MC-130H Program Manager Chuck Foley said in a release. "AMARG got the first set done and delivered two weeks in advance of our projected delivery date to Robins, with zero defects," he added. AMARG harvested six wing sets from low-flying time C-130Es used for training at Sheppard AFB, Texas, and drew one set from storage at Davis-Monthan. Each is being upgraded to C-130H standards and modified with special operations-specific features. Robins completed the first accelerated C-130 for AFSOC in record time earlier this month.
