President Obama will host French President François Hollande at the White House, and Defense Secretary Ash Carter will host French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian at the Pentagon on Tuesday, less than two weeks after terrorist attacks in Paris killed 130 people. On Friday, the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution calling on member countries that can do so “to take all necessary measures” against ISIS and “eradicate the safe haven they have established over significant parts of Iraq and Syria.” In a speech Sunday in Malaysia, Obama said the Paris attacks are not the “new normal,” and said the international coalition in Syria and Iraq will “destroy” ISIS. Hollande met with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday in Paris.
