TSgt. Daniel Warren, a pararescueman assigned to Air Force Reserve Command's 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick AFB, Fla., received the Bronze Star with Valor for his part in neutralizing attackers at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, during a ceremony on base earlier this month. Warren and fellow PJs aided British troops in tracking and killing a group of 15 insurgents that destroyed six aircraft and wounded nine allied troops at Bastion in a surprise attack on Sept. 14, 2012. Warren aided in treating and stabilizing the wounded under intense fire, and personally neutralized an insurgent threatening to discharge a grenade during the fight, according to a release. Col. Jeffrey Macrander, 920th RQW commander, presented the medal to Warren in front of a full auditorium on March 2.
