The Air Force Office of Scientific Research will award some $15.5 million to 42 scientists and engineers from 32 research institutions across the country. The grants will be awarded over a three-year period as part of the Air Force’s Young Investigator Research Program. AFOSR selected the awardees from a total of 234 proposals. “The objective of this program is to foster creative basic research in science and engineering, enhance early career development of outstanding young investigators, and increase opportunities for the young investigators to recognize the Air Force mission and the related challenges in science and engineering,” states a release.  Research areas include topics such as dynamical systems and control, information decision and complex networks, and energy, power and propulsion.
