After having been inspired by A1C Devin Nothstine, an airman from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh challenged airmen in his latest Airman-to-Airman video message to be the best they can be in every aspect of their lives, according to an Aug. 4 release. Nothstine sent Welsh an email asking him to challenge him to be “better than [he thinks he] can be,” said Welsh in the video. “I think that’s a fantastic approach to our mission as the United States Air Force,” he said. “Be a better professional, be a better supervisor, take better care of your airmen. … And then go be a better husband, father, wife, mother, sister, brother, friend,” he told airmen. “Let’s just be better than we thought we could.” He challenged himself by saying, “I’ll start by trying to become a better Chief of Staff of the Air Force and being a better person myself.”
