CMSAF James Cody called on airmen to “commit to creating an environment where every airman is treated with dignity and respect” in his latest Roll Call, released April 28. Cody emphasized that both commitment and courage are needed to defeat sexual assault. They are key “traits we must rely on to conquer … sexual assault,” he said. Cody noted that April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and that “it’s been an opportunity for us to break from the daily grind, to take a knee, and to think and talk about sexual assault.” It is an issue that “continues to destroy the lives of our fellow airmen and weaken our force,” he said. Still, he remains hopeful. “We are good enough to overcome,” he said. “We cannot allow this enemy from within to continue to exist and define who we are.”
