The last of 21 A-10s assigned to the 81st Fighter Squadron
at Spangdahlem, AB, Germany, left the base for good on May 17, 2013, bound for
the United States, as part of the squadron's preparations for inactivation in
June 2013, announced base officials. The Air Force is inactivating the unit as
part of its Fiscal 2013 force structure changes. Here, one of the squadron's remaining A-10s departs
