Defense Department officials visited JB Langley-Eustis, Va., to review the impact of recent changes to Langley's Transition Assistance Program, according to a base release. TAP supports service members separating from the military and transitioning to the civilian workforce through services like workshops in resume writing, interviewing, and networking. Due to the high number of individuals utilizing the program at Langley, Pentagon officials wanted to gauge how TAP was progressing since it became mandatory last November, said CMSgt. Cheri Sanders, performance evaluation manager for DOD's Transition to Veterans Program, in Langley's May 17 release. "We wanted to visit multiple bases for a variety of reasons, and Langley was definitely a hotspot for individuals transitioning into the civilian workforce," said Sanders. The visit took place on May 14. (Langley report by A1C Astin Harvill)
