AFA's 2013 Cycling Classic, held in partnership with Arlington Sports, takes place on June 8 and June 9 in Arlington, Va., to benefit AFA's Wounded Airman Program. Riders of all abilities—from casual amateurs to professional racers—will participate in a variety of races over those two days. Saturday's events include the Clarendon Cup, considered one of the premier Pro/Am races in the Washington, D.C., region, as well as various amateur races, the women's Pro/Am race, kids races, and men's pro invitational. Sunday begins with the Challenge Ride, a closed course open to cycling enthusiasts of all abilities. The day's featured event is the men's pro race that will include some of the top riders in the world. There will also be the Team Sabre ride in support of the Wounded Warrior Program as well as the Corporate Challenge, Armed Forces Cycling Challenge, women's and men's amateur races, and kids races. On June 8 at 6:30 p.m., the Air Force Band's Airmen of Note, the service's premier jazz ensemble, will perform at the Cycling Classic awards ceremony at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington.
