Salvage experts raised a rare Navy FM-2 Wildcat fighter, shown here, from the floor of Lake Michigan near Chicago on Dec. 7, 2012. The World War II fighter sat on the lake's bottom for nearly 68 years after its loss in a training mishap on Dec. 28, 1944, according to the Experimental Aircraft Association. The Naval Aviation Museum Foundation is sponsoring the aircraft's restoration. The FM-2 is expected to go on display in the Chicago area following its restoration.
