Flight hours for the Air Force's remotely piloted aircraft will be protected if sequestration kicks in on March 1, 2013, service officials told the Daily Report on Feb. 14, 2013. While the Air Force would have to cut more than 200,000 flying hours for the remainder of Fiscal 2013 under the sequester, RPA combat air patrols are not subject to those reductions since war funding accounts pay for them, said the officials.
