The Minnesota Air National Guard's 133rd Airlift Wing in St. Paul held its annual family day. "Family Day is our way of showing the families of our airmen we appreciate the support and sacrifices they make," said Col. Jim Johnson, 133rd AW commander, in the wing's Aug. 23 release. Family day took place on Aug. 18. The festivities kicked off with a 5K run. Among the other activities and stuff to enjoy were a rock climbing wall, carnival games, archery, hay rides, hovercraft rides, a home run derby, classic car show, fire truck displays, and C-130 tours, according to the release. "The best part of family day was walking around and seeing all my co-workers with their families and children," said MSgt. Kris Melton, knowledge operations functional manager with the wing's communications flight. Brig. Gen. Robert Cayton, the Minnesota National Guard's chief of staff for air, used the occasion to present the wing with the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. (St. Paul report by SrA. Kari Giles)
