Officials at JB Langley-Eustis, Va., announced they are implementing the "Better Foods, Better Bodies" campaign that the Air Force launched in March on a trial basis through May. Langley is one of the three BFBB pilot locations, along with JB Andrews, Md., and JBSA-Lackland, Tex. BFBB is designed to encourage airmen and their families to make healthier food and meal choices. "I want people to make an informed choice," said Monica Richardson, flight chief of Langley's 633rd Medical Group Health and Wellness Center, in an April 24 release. "If you are choosing the less-healthy option, I want it to be a conscious decision versus not even thinking about it," she added. As part of the campaign, Langley launched a website that informs personnel of healthier eating options, offers nutritious and appetizing recipes, and creates shopping lists for the recipes. Langley's commissary and shoppette are offering coupons and healthy food choices to support the campaign, states the release. (Langley report by SrA. Brittany Paerschke-O'Brien)
