The Air Force has requested about
$6.5 billion for its space investment portfolio in Fiscal 2014, including some $2.7
billion for research, development, test, and evaluation activities and another
$3.8 billion for procurement of satellite systems and associated ground assets,
service budget officials told defense reporters on April 15, 2013. Here, a United
Launch Alliance Delta IV rocket is shown at Cape Canaveral AFS, Fla. The
proposed budget for Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicles, like the Delta IV, in Fiscal 2014 is the
Air Force's top planned space investment next fiscal year.Air
