Brazilians Discuss Cooperation with Air Forces Southern: Brazilian air force leaders met with officials from 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., to discuss enhancing bilateral training cooperation and exchanges, announced AFSOUTH officials. "We were able to accomplish a lot of meaningful reviews and planning in a short time during the bilateral talks," said Maj. Ben McKenzie, AFSOUTH regional affairs strategist, in an Oct. 3 Davis-Monthan release. In addition to reviewing the results of this year's cooperation, leaders broached the topic of Brazilian participation in Exercise Angel Thunder 2013, according to the release. Brazilian personnel will likely join the approximately 1,700 personnel expected for next year's personnel recovery exercise in the southwest United States. AFSOUTH leaders also discussed exchanging C-130 aircrew and maintainers, as well as instructors from their respective air force academies, states the release. The meetings ran from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20. (Davis-Monthan report by Capt. Justin Brockhoff)
