Airmen Encouraged to Re-Enlist Before Computer System Switch: The Air Force Personnel Center at JBSA-Randolph, Tex., is urging eligible airmen to re-enlist or extend their current enlistment through the myPers website by Nov. 15 to avoid processing delays and military pay issues. The Air Force is transferring the Military Personnel Data System, which is used to initiate pay action for airmen, to the Defense Information Systems Agency's Defense Enterprise Computing Center in December. "Airmen who accomplish their re-enlistment or enlistment extension by Nov. 15 should not experience interruptions in their pay," said Michael McLaughlin, AFPC reenlistments branch chief, in an Oct. 1 release. He added, "Getting these personnel transactions completed and into the Defense Finance and Accounting Service system are the fastest means to update an airmen's pay and entitlements and will reduce the need for DFAS to manually override or correct an airmen's pay record."
