With the rollout of the 187th and final F-22 fighter—serial number 4195—from Lockheed Martin's assembly facility in Marietta, Ga., in December 2011, the Air Force ended a chapter in the life of its premier air supremacy fighter. Now the F-22 program's focus shifts to upgrading and modernizing the fleet in the years ahead. Factoring two losses in crashes, the Air Force will have 185 F-22s in total when Raptor 4195 enters the fleet in May 2012.
