With many air commandos racking up to 20 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan over the last 10 years, Air Force Special Operations Command leaders are taking a hard look at resiliency, Lt. Gen. Eric Fiel, AFSOC commander, told the Daily Report in an interview in mid January 2012. About a year ago, the command began placing mental health experts, known as "operational psychologists," inside the 720th Special Tactics Group, which is headquartered at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Here, combat controllers from the 21st Special Tactics Squadron, which falls under the group, scan the runway as an MC-130P takes off during a training exercise at Eglin AFB, Fla., May 11, 2011.
