Two HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopters from the California Air National Guard's 129th Rescue Wing at Moffett Federal Airfield began dropping water on wildfires outside Bakersfield in southern California on Aug. 12, 2012, according to unit officials. The helicopters employ "bambi buckets" that are capable of holding some 500 gallons of water. Here, an HH-60 scoops up water with its bambi bucket.
