Dover's Super Second: Air Force Reserve Command's 709th Airlift Squadron at Dover AFB, Del., flew its final C-5B Galaxy sortie, as it changes over to all C-5M Super Galaxies. "Many of the Reservists here at Dover have flown all [C-5] variants and will miss the last C-5B as it transfers to a different wing," said Col. Scott Durham, 512th Operations Group commander at Dover. "While we say adios to the last of our B models, it's not the end," added Durham. The squadron's final C-5B departed the Delaware base on April 5 for its new assignment with the 22nd AS at Travis AFB, Calif. The 709th AS is the second airlift unit at Dover to fully re-equip with the C-5M. The Active Duty 9th AS flew its final C-5B sortie from Dover just last month and became Air Force's first all-C-5M unit. (Dover report by MSgt. Veronica Aceveda)
