The Republican staff of the House Armed Services Committee issued a doom-and-gloom memo to Chairman Rep. Buck McKeon (R-Calif.), Sept, 22, 2011. The memo discusses potential cuts to the military if the new bipartisan Congressional committee tasked with reducing the federal budget deficit by $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years doesn't reach a consensus by Thanksgiving 2011.
