A group of former Air Force senior officials, including former Chief of Staff retired Gen. John Jumper warned that additional significant cuts to the US military would essentially gut the Air Force's ability to execute its current portfolio of global operations. This group sent a letter to Rep. Randy Forbes (R-Va.) on Nov. 14, 2011, discussing their concerns and supporting Forbes' "Strong Defense, Strong America" initiative that seeks to prevent further reductions to core national security funding.
