Randolph Opens Center for Airmen and Families: Air Force officials celebrated the opening of the new Warrior and Family Operations Center at Randolph AFB, Tex.The 7,000 square-foot, newly renovated facility sits next door to Air Force Personnel Center headquarters. It will house nearly 80 personnel who administer four programs that provide integrated support services to airmen and their families: Air Force Wounded Warrior; Airman and Family Readiness; Retiree Services; and Sexual Assault Prevention and Response. "This building allows us to take better care of our people," said Lt. Gen. Darrell Jones, deputy chief of staff for manpower, personnel, and services, during the May 25 ribbon-cutting ceremony. "We will always take care of our airmen, and that means taking care of their families." There are currently more than 1,100 Air Force wounded warriors and some 690,000 Air Force military retirees receiving support. (Randolph report by Tammy Cournoyer)
