A Comfortable Home Away: The 315th Training Squadron at Goodfellow AFB, Tex., officially opened a new 200-room dormitory in a ribbon cutting at the base. The three-story, 110,000-square-foot building will provide comfortable, modern accommodations for up to 400 airmen at any time. "This is not just a dorm, it is a huge quality of life improvement for our airmen here," said Col. Mark Damiano, commander of Goodfellow's 17th Training Wing, at the June 29 opening ceremony. Each room will house two airmen, with common study and recreation rooms located throughout the facility. Constructed to current energy conservation standards, the dorm "gives our airmen a place to rest, relax, and recharge themselves," noted Ron Trepanier, 17th Civil Engineering Squadron engineering flight chief.
