Maj. Gen. Wendy Masiello, a senior USAF contracting officer, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the Air Force's mistaken release of data to KC-X tanker bidders Boeing and EADS North America in November 2010 did not reveal any proprietary or pricing information relative to the competition, Jan. 27, 2011. Service officials subsequently provided both companies with the same "snapshot" of information to address any "appearance of unfairness," and thereby "reestablished fairness in the competition" from USAF's perspective, she said. Here, KC-135s, the tanker model that KC-X is meant to replace, on the flightline at Andersen AFB, Guam, Sept. 14, 2010.
