Lockheed Martin intends to use a new virtual reality facility known as the Collaborative Human Immersive Laboratory, or CHIL, to help control costs and improve efficiency associated with the development of space systems, company officials announced, Jan. 24, 2011. The lab is located at Lockheed's space sector headquarters in Littleton, Colo. Lockheed already operates a similar lab to help reduce aircraft lifecycle costs.
