The Air Force and its industry partners successfully launched a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket into space from Vandenberg AFB, Calif., Jan. 20, 2011. This was the first-ever West Coast launch of the Delta IV Heavy and the largest rocket ever fired from the US West Coast. It carried a classified US intelligence satellite.
