Fostering Community: The Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve plan to host free teen leadership summits this year in Dahlonega, Ga.; Estes, Colo.; and Washington, D.C., for teens 14 to 18 years old with a parent in either reserve component. These summits are designed to combine high-adventure activities with leadership classes to allow teens to tap into their leadership potential and discover hidden strengths. They are also meant to foster in the teens a sense of belonging to the Air Force community. The first in the series, the Classic Teen Leadership Summit, takes place June 19-24 in Dahlonega. The second event, the Capitol Teen Leadership Summit, is new. It runs July 25-29 in Washington. The final gathering, the Adventure Teen Leadership Summit, will be held Aug. 9-14 in Estes Park.
