The Air Force and Air National Guard will almost certainly see investment dollars directed into bolstering their legacy F-16 fighters in the upcoming Fiscal 2012 budget, ANG Director Lt. Gen. Harry Wyatt told the Daily Report in a December 2010 interview. However, the extent of those improvements will be closely tied to the health of the F-35 strike fighter program as determined by the results of a sweeping F-35 review, he said. Here, three F-16s from the Washington, D.C., Air National Guard's 121st Fighter Squadron fly over Atlantic waters off of the US East Coast. The unit protects the skies around the nation's capital.
