The Air Force has selected Boeing's 767-based New-Gen Tanker to be its new KC-X aerial refueling platform, Secretary Michael Donley announced during a Pentagon briefing, Feb. 24, 2011. Boeing's winning design, shown here in an artist's rendition, will replace the service's oldest KC-135 tankers. Boeing won over EADS North America, which offered an A330-based tanker model.
