Building a Resilient Force: Wing commanders and command chief master sergeants across Air Mobility Command took part in a one-day conference at Scott AFB, Ill., on Comprehensive Airmen Fitness. The command began employing CAF in July 2010 in the hopes of creating a "sense of belonging in the Air Force community." It's about building a more resilient force by focusing on airmen's mental, physical, spiritual, and social fitness. The conference addressed progress made to date and upcoming changes. For example, AMC expects to hire a "dedicated CAF/resiliency coordinator" at the command level as well as coordinators at the base level. The command also intends to launch a new survey in the coming months to gather data on CAF initiatives. "We hope this summit helps to shape the way ahead to include a sustained, systematic, and standardized approach to creating an enduring culture of wellness," said CMSgt. David Spector, AMC command chief. (Scott release by MSgt. Scott Sturkol)
