Dyess Unit Sets Record in Cyber Inspection: The 7th Communications Squadron at Dyess AFB, Tex., established a new record during the 7th Bomb Wing's command cyber readiness inspection, earning the highest score in the Defense Department's history for this type of assessment, according to Air Force officials. The squadron scored a record-breaking 96.3 percent for the portion of last month's inspection dealing with unclassified networks, earning a grade of "outstanding," they said. Previously, the highest score in this area was 92.9 percent, said Ross Balfour of 24th Air Force's cyber force protection branch. The 7th CS also scored 80.5 percent in the part of the inspection dealing with classified networks, receiving an "excellent" rating. "This inspection validated the work we do is spot-on, and we are extremely proud that we have been defending the net better than any other DOD cyberspace professionals," said Maj.
