Travis Passenger Terminal Gets New Family Lounge: Officials at Travis AFB, Calif., opened the new family lounge at the base's passenger terminal. "We're still awaiting some furniture and signage, but our doors are now open," said 1st Lt. Andrew Gill, 60th Air Mobility Wing passenger operations flight commander, during last month's ribbon-cutting ceremony. Construction of the lounge began in August. The lounge is customized with children in mind, with features like child-sized restrooms, an insulated nursery, and a play area. Efforts are now under way to create business space for "those who are looking to use their computers in a relaxed area," said Gill. The lounge can serve as a temporary location for travel agency processing in the event of an evacuation, he said. "Not only is it a readily available asset in times of need for processing, it's designed with families in mind and we're looking forward to seeing the smiling faces," said Gill.
