War Game Sales Banned on Bases: Airmen will not be able to buy the forthcoming version of the Medal of Honor first-person-shooter video game at base exchanges on Air Force installations, or on any US military base, for that matter. The Army and Air Force Exchange Service has banned the game's sale due to concerns over the perceived insensitivity of the game's set-up. Depicting modern-day battle in Afghanistan, the latest iteration of the popular action game allows players the option of playing the role of Taliban fighters and shooting US troops. The San Jose Mercury News reports some military families that lost loved ones in Afghanistan and Iraq opposed the game and its sales on bases. Other groups of gamers, and even soldiers, do not find the game disrespectful or feel it has been designed in bad taste. Release of the game is slated for Oct. 12.
