Roy Completes Africa Trip: CMSAF James Roy made stops in Botswana, Djibouti, and Senegal during a trip to Africa to meet with military leaders in those nations as part of US Africa Command's and 17th Air Force's outreach activities on the continent. The stop in Dakar, Senegal, on Oct. 15 was the final leg of the trip. There, Roy met with senior Senegalese air force officials to discuss enlisted force development, education, and establishing military academies and curricula. Roy also took the time to meet with each tier of enlisted USAF airmen serving with Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. "When airmen come to Africa to take part in engagements with our partner nations, they must be willing to learn," said Roy. He added, "Engagement is about sharing expertise, but we must be open minded." (Dakar report by MSgt. Jim Fisher)
