A Beacon for the Battle of Britain: The Royal Air Force Museum last week revealed its planned design for a new Battle of Britain Exhibition building in London, to include a 350-foot high "Beacon" structure of steel and glass "that will dominate the skyline and will be visible from the centre of the city." According to the museum release, construction of the new facility hinges on "provision of suitable funding," but officials consider it "very fitting" that this initial planning coincides with the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The museum is seeking private funding for the project, and BBC news reports there are "several potential investors already" showing interest.
