PACAF Completes Exercise in Vietnam: Pacific Angel 2010, this year's iteration of Pacific Air Forces annual humanitarian-assistance exercise, concluded Monday in Tan Thoi, Vietnam. During the week-long event, more than 50 US military personnel, working alongside Vietnamese military members and officials with non-governmental and civil health organizations, refurbished and upgraded two medical clinics Tan Thoi and Truong Thanh. In addition, US and Vietnamese medical teams provided medical and dental care for thousands of local residents in those communities. "It is very satisfying for the United States to use our airlift capabilities to quickly move in doctors, engineers, and supplies to far flung regions in order to assist local efforts ... to provide medical, dental, and engineering civic assistance," said Maj. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, PACAF's director of operations. (Tan Thoi report by Capt. Timothy Lundberg)
