General Atomics Aeronautical Systems unveiled the Sea Avenger, an aircraft carrier-launched version of its jet-powered Predator C Avenger unmanned aerial vehicle concept, May 3, 2010. The company said it has formally proposed Sea Avenger, shown here in an artist's rendition, to the Navy to meet the sea service's stated need for an unmanned carrier-based airborne surveillance and strike platform. Like Avenger, which has been offered to the Air Force and is undergoing testing, Sea Avenger, represents low-risk, mature-technology, according to the company.
