New Medical Training Center Opens: Air Force officials on June 25 celebrated the grand opening of the new $18 million Medical Readiness Training Center at Camp Bullis, Tex. This facility, located on San Antonio's northwest side, will host all initial, sustainment, and future medical readiness training per BRAC 2005 under the leadership of the 882nd Training Group, which relocated from Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Tex. An estimated 6,500 airmen will transition through Camp Bullis in 2010 prior to arriving at their deployed locations. "This is a dream come true," said Lt. Gen. Charles Green, Air Force surgeon general. He continued, "The goal from the beginning has been to have a place that would allow all the services to train together and to know exactly what the equipment sets are going into war."
