Twenty-fourth Air Force, the organization that will operate and defend USAF's cyber network, has been cleared to commence initial operations, Air Force Space Command officials announced. Robert Kehler, AFSPC boss, made the decision on Jan. 22, 2010, by certifying that the new numbered air force had achieved initial operational capability, meaning it is deemed capable of performing critical elements of its mission.
