The Pentagon announced Jan. 20, 2010, that TSgt. Adam K. Ginett, 29, an explosive ordnance disposal technician, died Jan. 19 near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds received from an improvised explosive device. He had deployed to Afghanistan from the 31st Civil Engineer Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Here, on Aug. 28, 2007, then-Staff Sergeant. Ginett receives a Bronze Star medal for his work during an earlier deployment to Afghanistan. He was assigned to Shaw AFB, S.C., at that time.
