Pentagon leaders told reporters Friday that the US military personnel on the ground in Haiti likely would grow to about 10,000 personnel over the weekend to assist with US and international disaster relief efforts following the Jan. 12 magnitude 7.0 earthquake. Airmen were among the first US responders as they deployed to open up the international airport and help reestablish command and control and assist with search and rescue.
