A Jan. 27, 2010 test proved the C-130J force operating from Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan could airdrop more supplies than previously possible to keep up with a new Container Delivery System rigging facility the Army is opening at Kandahar to support the troop surge in Afghanistan. Here, TSgt. Jay Krahl, 772nd Expeditionary Airlift Squadron loadmaster, helps upload CDS onto a C-130J Super Hercules for the test. The 82nd Airborne Corps’ new rigging facility on Kandahar Airfield will allow soldiers to build more CDS bundles filled with supplies needed to be airdropped to forward operating bases within Afghanistan.
