Even with the addition of 13 months to the F-35 development schedule and the delay in ramping up the aircraft's production, Defense Secretary Robert Gates told members of the House Armed Services Committee on Feb. 3, 2010, that the schedule for when the first combat-ready units will appear in the Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy have not slipped. They remain Fiscal 2012, Fiscal 2013, and Fiscal 2014, respectively, he said.
