The 96th Air Refueling Squadron at JB Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, on Dec. 14, 2010, completed its first operational mission since its reactivation. Airmen of this active duty KC-135 tanker unit were crewmembers aboard a Hawaii Air National Guard tanker that refueled a B-52H bomber over the Pacific Ocean that day as the bomber headed to Guam. Also aboard were members of the Hawaii ANG's 203rd ARS with whom the active duty airmen operate Air Guard KC-135s at Hickam under an active association. The Air Force reactivated the 96th ARS in July, 2010. Shown here, the boom of the KC-135 and the B-52 during the refueling.
