AF-3, the third Air Force F-35A test aircraft, has arrived at Edwards AFB, Calif., for flight testing, Lockheed Martin announced Dec. 14, 2010. It joins AF-1 and AF-2, the first two F-35A test platforms, there. Testers will use AF-3 to evaluate advanced technologies and the F-35 mission systems suite, said company officials. Here, AF-3 takes on fuel from a KC-135 tanker during its 1,200-mile flight from Lockheed's aircraft assembly plant at Fort Worth, Tex., to Edwards, Dec. 11, 2010.
