Hudson selected to head Air Force Museum: Retired Lt. Gen. Jack Hudson will be the next director of the National Museum of the US Air Force on the grounds of Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, service officials announced. Hudson will take the reins on Dec. 16 from retired Maj. Gen. Charles Metcalf, who has led the museum since 1996. Museum officials last month announced Metcalf's retirement, which takes effect Dec. 31. "It is an honor to be selected as the next museum director and to have the opportunity to help move the museum forward on the foundation that General Metcalf built so well," said Hudson. He added, "These are exciting times at the museum, with plans for growth of museum exhibit space, potential for enhanced educational programs, and the possibility of acquiring a space shuttle orbiter and associated artifacts." Hudson currently serves as the museum's deputy director. (Wright-Patterson release)
